TIPS FOR TEACHERS

Assalamualaikum

Hi my dear readers! Today, I'm gonna share several survival tips for teachers, written by Dr Harlina Halizah Siraj. I got her permission to share it. Enjoy your reading! (^_^)

SURVIVAL TIPS FOR TEACHERS : Tip no. 1 - Reflect on the main reason you become a teacher in the first place. Was it your childhood dream or mainly because you did not have much choices then? Why on earth are you still a teacher now? Find the answers in your heart. What you are today is a result of how you first took off in this noble profession...

SURVIVAL TIPS FOR TEACHERS : Tip no. 2 - Assign a special task to your students today : ` Write ONE word that best describes my teacher, Puan/Mrs/Dr/Prof/Mdm ....(fill in the blank with your own name)' Provide each student with a post-it note. Input should be anonymous. Pass around a small box to collect the notes. Paste them on a wall surface (in your bedroom) - the words describe what the students see in you!

SURVIVAL TIPS FOR TEACHERS : Tip no. 3 - Prioritize the weakest student in your class, instead of the cleverest. Those who are gifted with superb IQ could sail thru' without much of your help. It's the weakest who needs you the most. Don't ignore him/her. Look at her/him with a different perspective today - full with hopes & dreams!

SURVIVAL TIPS FOR TEACHERS : Tip no. 4 - Be a great teacher who inspires. From William Hart - a mediocre teacher tells, a good teacher explains, a superior teacher demonstrates & a great teacher inspires! Convince your students that you're a different breed of teacher - the one who really cares & prays for them, every time, every day!

SURVIVAL TIPS FOR TEACHERS : Tip no. 5 - Honour the students' trust in you. Keep their secrets. Do not spread out the private info they confided in you to other teachers in the school, unless it's related to safety and legal matters. Even then, just tell the principle/headmaster. Confidentiality is a part of teaching ethics.

SURVIVAL TIPS FOR TEACHERS : Tip no. 6 - Teach with all your heart, imagine the students are your own flesh and blood. Thank Allah (again & again) for the honour of being a teacher. Focus your energy before stepping into class. Remind yourself of the responsibilities put on your shoulders. Finish this statement : ` At the end of this session, my students should be able to.....'

SURVIVAL TIPS FOR TEACHERS - Tip no.7 - Look back into history - all great individuals were teachers. Rasulullah SAW was a great mu'allim/murrabi. Imam Al-Ghazali, Ibnu Sina, Gandhi, Hippocrates, Buddha, Lao Tzu, Mother Teresa, the list is non-exhaustive. These great people shared a common teaching style - they touched the hearts of each student they encountered (student-centred teaching). How about you?

SURVIVAL TIPS FOR TEACHERS - Tip no.8 - Read, read and read more! Teachers are readers and readers are leaders. Lead your students to explore the marvellous world of knowledge & virtue. Look up for new books & re-read the old ones. Reading builds up creativity of teachers. So, what book are you reading now?

SURVIVAL TIPS FOR TEACHERS - Tip no.9 - Shine as your students' best role model, esp. for those who do not have one at home. Practise what you preach, and walk the talk. For students who only have bad role modelling all these while, YOU are their shining beacon, salvation and last hope. Don't let them down, please...

SURVIVAL TIPS FOR TEACHERS - Tip no.10 - Serve as your students' life mentor. Do you still receive SMS, emails, wedding cards, festive greetings and well wishes years after your students have left school/college? Did the old students look for you whenever they came visiting? If so, rejoice...for you're indeed your students' life mentor! If not and you do not really mind, you might have never meant to be one.

Hari Hiburan Islam (HAI)

Assalamualaikum

Pada 30 Julai 2011, kerajaan Negeri Kelantan telah menganjurkan forum Bicara Selebriti sempena Hari Hiburan Islam (HAI). Forum tersebut telah diadakan di Balai Islam, Lundang, Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Alhamdulillah, saya berpeluang hadir ke program tersebut. Secara keseluruhan, program ini sangat bagus. Bayangkan, penuh satu dewan Balai Islam tu! Majoritinya adalah anak-anak muda. Syabas, kerajaan negeri! Lain kali, wat lagi program cam ni ek.

Gambar-gambar yg sempat dirakamkan sempena Bicara Selebriti:

Ahli-ahli panel yg cukup hebat

Persembahan oleh Sham Kamikaze di akhir program

Persembahan oleh Ustaz Hasrizal diiringi muzik oleh Sham Kamikaze

Sekali lagi, syabas dan tahniah kerajaan negeri Kelantan atas penganjuran program yg sebegini bagus.

Dalam Mihrab Cinta

Assalamualaikum

Wah, dah lama rasanya blog ni tak ber'update', ye.

Bukan nye tak nak menulis tapi disebabkan internet yg agak kurang memuaskan, menyebabkan saya malas nk blogging..huhu.

Tajuknya DALAM MIHRAB CINTA. Saya bagi 5 bintang untuk cerita ni. Sama dgn KCB.

Ceritanya lain dari yg lain...sgt menyentuh hati. Sesiapa yg belum menonton cerita ni, leh tgk kat youtube. Saya yakin, anda tidak akan kecewa menontonnya.

Kat sini nk share salah satu lagu drpd cerita ni.

Lirik Lagu : Karena Hati Bicara

Mengarungi samudera mahligai nan suci
penuh gelombang silih berganti
semua adalah ujian penguat cinta
bila hati bicara…

* Terkadang tak perlu terucap kata-kata
tuk selami dalamnya hatimu
susah senangmu jadi bagian hidupku
karena hati bicara…

Reff :
Tatap manja matamu …
kisahkan berjuta cerita
hadirmu di hidupku
memberikan berjuta makna….
karunia Illahi mempersatukan dua hati

Just the way you are

Assalamualaikum

Hi everyone! Minna san wa ogenki desu ka? Watashi wa genki da yooo... hihi ^^

I'm at home now.. still seeking for something to do during this holiday. It's quite a long holiday since the graduation day will be in the end of July..Phew.. do you have any suggestion for me ?

Ever since I'm back home last Sunday, honestly, I missss my studentss sooo mmmuuuchhh!!

How are they ? Are they OK with their new science teacher there? I felt something missing when I wake up in the morning. No more 'berebut bilik air' with housemates, no more 'thumbprint' at the school office , no more greetings and cute smiles from the students.. Ohhh, I really miss those moments..

To be honest, I love school atmosphere so much. Seeing the students' pure faces, their act, their opinions, ideas, and laughter..

For your information, I loved to read the inspirational stories about teachers and teaching profesion during my studies at university. I'm still remember the book that I read in the library at university, entitled ' SMILE BEFORE DECEMBER'. It was really an awesome book. And, believe it or not, I applied the content of the book during my practicum in school, and it works!

Alhamdulillah...

I love seeing smiling faces. During my school days, I also love to see my teachers entered the class with smiling faces. That indicate that he/ she was in a good mood for the lesson. I just can't help myself to feel down whenever the teachers entering the class with sour and gloomy faces. So far, it was true that you should give your students your smile as early as possible. Don't wait until December. It's gonna be too late!

And the most importantly, I just act the way I am whenever I face my students. And, they feel comfortable and easy to communicate with me. Even to share problems and their opinions about certain things, they feel free to share them with me. Believe it or not, even the 'monkey love' @ 'puppy love' matter, I still have to handle it. I just gave them advices and alhamdulillah, they listened to me. Without giving harsh words or scary warnings, the students will listened to us when we use soft way and psycho them a bit...hihi

Being a teacher doesn't mean that our job is only to teach. We are not just teaching, but guiding them.

Smile before it's too late.

Give them warm attention.

Listen to them and they will listen to you..

You will get what you give

Love them

They will love you back =)

Some of the gifts

My students even gave me a T-shirt which they designed it themselves. Saying 'We love you' there. How touching... sob3

And they drew their signatures on the back of the T-shirt and write some lovely and touching words...

'You are the one'

'You are the best'

'I'll remember you'

'Don't forget me'

'Just the way you are'

Last but not least, thanks a lot my students for loving me.

You make me smile (^_^)

<3 <3 <3 <3 tonnes of love to you my students <3 <3 <3 <3

Selamat Tinggal ~~ Sayounara ~~ Goodbye

Assalamualaikum

Pengalaman dgn students tersayang buat kali terakhir. (T_T)

Selamat tinggal...

Sayounara...

Goodbye...

Kalau ada rezeki, insyaAllah kita bertemu lagi...

Setiap pertemuan pasti ada perpisahan

Cikgu sayang students cikgu sangat2 ^^

Thank you so much for loving me, my students.

Teacher's Day Quotes

All that I have achieved in my life is because of my teachers. Some of them were formally designated as my teachers -- in school, college, and university. Others, such as my parents, were my teachers nonetheless. Here are some happy Teacher's Day quotes to celebrate the best teachers in our lives.

Dan Rather

The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called truth.

Henry Brooks Adams

A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.

Robert Brault

The average teacher explains complexity; the gifted teacher reveals simplicity.

Cicero

The authority of those who teach is often an obstacle to those who want to learn.

Jacques Barzun

In teaching, you cannot see the fruit of a day's work. It is invisible and remains so, maybe for twenty years.

Helen Caldicott

Teachers, I believe, are the most responsible and important members of society because their professional efforts affect the fate of the earth.

Albert Einstein

It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.

Nikos Kazantzakis

Ideal teachers are those who use themselves as bridges over which they invite their students to cross, then having facilitated their crossing, joyfully collapse, encouraging them to create bridges of their own.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

A teacher who can arouse a feeling for one single good action, for one single good poem, accomplishes more than he who fills our memory with rows and rows of natural objects, classified with name and form.

Ken Blanchard

Your role as a leader is even more important than you might imagine. You have the power to help people become winners.

William Butler Yeats

Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire.

Forest Witchcraft

A hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, but the world may be a better place because I made a difference in the life of a child.

To Every Student

In every school, to every student

there's a special teacher.

To every teacher, to every student

there's a special bond.

To every bond to every moment

there’s a special time that we'll think

back and say to our self’s

"That teacher really cared!"

If you know that teacher cares

your life will brighten up.

Cause now you know that

if you fall, that same special teacher

Will come and help you up.

~Teacher with no voice~

Assalamualaikum

Semalam suara cikgu serak. tapi still boleh ngajar. hari ni, xde suara. hukhukhuk...

batuk, pedih tekak,....

mmg suara xkuar...

hari ni masuk relief kelas 1B. Masa masuk tu, diorang bersorak sbb cikgu ni yg masuk..

terharu... ^^

tapi cikgu xde suara... sedih.. (T_T)

xdapat cakap ngn diorg.. cakap cm berbisik je boleh.

since suara xde, cikgu tulis kt whiteboard ' saya tak de suara hari ni. tolong buat ulangkaji sains. kalau x faham, boleh tanya saya'.

huhu... mmg lawak... can you imagine teacher without voice?

sangat perit...

so, bersyukur la dgn nikmat suara yg Allah S.W.T berikan.
mujur p & p semua dh selesai. so, xde la cm terhutang apa2 ngn diorg..huhu

lagi satu, mujur semalam dh cakap semua yg terbuku di hati. kalau plan nk cakap hari ni, mmg dh x tercakap la jawabnye. Alhamdulillah, semalam semua dh selesai.

Before cikgu keluar dr kelas tu, memandangkan masa relief tu dh tamat, guest what??

I got 2 presents!

Both are from boys..

They are an origami of crane and a teacher's day card!

Wow, it's not teacher's day yet, but i already received teacher's day card. So lovely ^^

Thanks a lot ^^

student yg bagi origami crane tu, student yg cikgu pernah ajar wat origami masa aktiviti utk Persatuan Bahasa Antarabangsa. Really appreciate it ^^

1 Lilium ~~ di hati

Assalamualaikum

Hari ni last mengajar kelas 1 Lilium. 2 periods. tapi sbb minta relief cikgu BI diorg yg x hadir, so, jadi la 4 periods!

4 periods of very happening and exciting Science class!

eventhough 11.55- 2.15 pm in fact is quite long, but it seemed like in a blink of an eye!

With awesome, marvellous and exciting activities , teacher managed to maximise the worthy of the lesson. No regrets, the class was fantastic! Teacher really satisfied. (^_^)

Students of 1 Lilium

Teacher with the students

QUIZ

Skeleton Dance

No doubt, the students really enjoyed the Skeleton Dance.

Especially boys...

Pastu bila dh habis sume aktiviti, cikgu ni pn suruh la diorg tulis penilaian pasal cikgu ni, sepanjang 3 bulan ngajar diorang. Guest what? Diorang punya isi hati sangat mengharukan! Ramai yg x nak cikgu keluar dr sini. sume sedih.

Lps diorg tulis isi hati tu, baru cikgu bagi reward utk aktiviti sepanjang minggu ni, berdasarkan markah terkumpul kumpulan. Then, before the class end, cikgu ni pn bagi la kata2 terakhir memandangkan ni kelas terakhir ngajar diorng coz lps ni klu masuk kelas pn, just edar dan kutip kertas exam je. Masa dengar kata2 tu, ada la jugak 4-5 org students yg merah mata...

Adui... sayang sgt diorg ni kt cikgu ni...

Siap tulis kt flash card 'We love you'. 'Don't forget us'... etc. Sangat terharu.

Begitulah ceritera untuk 1 Lilium

..................................................................................................................................................................

1 Bougainvillae, masuk jugak tadi, kul 9.15 -9.50 pagi je. Just 1 period. This is the last formal class ngn diorg. Same la jugak, diorg pn cikgu mintak tulis isi hati, iaitu penilaian diorg terhadap pengajaran cikgu sepanjang 3 bulan ni. Sangat terharu dengan isi hati diorg.

Cikgu pn bagi la jugak reward brdasarkan markah terkumpul aktiviti berkumpulan dan markah trademark kumpulan. then, cikgu bg kata2 terakhir. Diorg cm berat hati sgt , xnak bagi cikgu keluar dr sekolah ni...

Huhu...
